Should You Forego Antipsychotics?

Knowing that many antipsychotics have been sited in violent crime, are we courageous enough to forego these drugs?

Can we work from shade zero, where there may be lack of motivation, lack of joy and absence of happiness? It is a long call for change. Fighting depression would be easier if we don't have to fight the drugs treating it.

Life is imperfect that way. In my other post at 99 Shades of Blue, drugs such as Zoloft, Prozac, Clonazepam, Sertraline, Effexor, Anafranil, Ritalin, Celexa, Geodon, Xanax, Luvox, Paxil, Lexapro, Trazodone, and benzodiazepine look dangerous. But they are not the only one.

The question is, do they pose the same danger to every and all users? No.

They don't offer the same benefit to every user either. The effectiveness and necessity for each of these drugs differ from person to person. Thus, it is impossible to make decisions that would apply to all.

Depression treatment is individual, just like any other medical treatment. Not all heart diseases need surgery or long term drug treatment. Not all lungs diseases need supportive breathing devices or drugs intervention. These apply to depression as well.

Whether you decide to forego your medicine and start from shade zero, it is up to you to try. The choice is yours. But, it is much safer if you will consult with your caregiver and people that care for you.
