Commenting on Modern Psychotherapy

If depression is known by the feeling of dejection, then any Psychiatrist's caring attitude towards the patient is right on track.

Caring is crucial because low mood and aversion towards all types of activities do affect behavior, thought patterns, and one's projection toward his or her state of health.

Explaining the nature of depression goes beyond how one's present state is the outcome of imbalance in the brain. A depressed person's mode of life contributes to the over all health condition he or she feels. The body is affected by one's lifestyle, would anyone disagree?

Hopefully, not all Psychiatrist will start the treatment by prescribing an antidepressant.

Lend a willing ear to listen to the patient is also nice. Some psychiatrists will take the time to do this, especially important when a patient talks about drug's side-effects.

It is easy to hope that side effects will diminish over time, but that may not be a good thing, and it may not go that way.

How psychiatrist will monitor these happenings anyway? It is enough effort if a psychiatrist would pay attention to depression symptoms of the patient and inform the patient about the progress he or she is making. Treatment is one thing, treatment with care is another.
