Should You Forego Antipsychotics?

Knowing that many antipsychotics have been sited in violent crime, are we courageous enough to forego these drugs?

Can we work from shade zero, where there may be lack of motivation, lack of joy and absence of happiness? It is a long call for change. Fighting depression would be easier if we don't have to fight the drugs treating it.

Life is imperfect that way. In my other post at 99 Shades of Blue, drugs such as Zoloft, Prozac, Clonazepam, Sertraline, Effexor, Anafranil, Ritalin, Celexa, Geodon, Xanax, Luvox, Paxil, Lexapro, Trazodone, and benzodiazepine look dangerous. But they are not the only one.

The question is, do they pose the same danger to every and all users? No.

They don't offer the same benefit to every user either. The effectiveness and necessity for each of these drugs differ from person to person. Thus, it is impossible to make decisions that would apply to all.

Depression treatment is individual, just like any other medical treatment. Not all heart diseases need surgery or long term drug treatment. Not all lungs diseases need supportive breathing devices or drugs intervention. These apply to depression as well.

Whether you decide to forego your medicine and start from shade zero, it is up to you to try. The choice is yours. But, it is much safer if you will consult with your caregiver and people that care for you.

Commenting on Modern Psychotherapy

If depression is known by the feeling of dejection, then any Psychiatrist's caring attitude towards the patient is right on track.

Caring is crucial because low mood and aversion towards all types of activities do affect behavior, thought patterns, and one's projection toward his or her state of health.

Explaining the nature of depression goes beyond how one's present state is the outcome of imbalance in the brain. A depressed person's mode of life contributes to the over all health condition he or she feels. The body is affected by one's lifestyle, would anyone disagree?

Hopefully, not all Psychiatrist will start the treatment by prescribing an antidepressant.

Lend a willing ear to listen to the patient is also nice. Some psychiatrists will take the time to do this, especially important when a patient talks about drug's side-effects.

It is easy to hope that side effects will diminish over time, but that may not be a good thing, and it may not go that way.

How psychiatrist will monitor these happenings anyway? It is enough effort if a psychiatrist would pay attention to depression symptoms of the patient and inform the patient about the progress he or she is making. Treatment is one thing, treatment with care is another.

Are You Worth It?

Depression is found to be a common risk for people who have lost their vision from age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Why?

Patterns observed in different illnesses tell me that any severe illness carries the risk of sufferers fallen into depression. What is it? In these cases, people suffer from pain, traumas and despair.

It leads us to think that pain, traumas and despair from any situation are the factors pushing a person into a state of mind that is susceptible to depression. Depression has external causes. If the situation warrant depressing thoughts, it doesn't take long for someone to become ill.

In the past, we overlooked and ignored these health endangering factors in our lives and in the lives of those we care about. Then it was too late when depression took over.

Pain, traumas, and a person's despair could be lessened if we act in time. At such time, a little time we spend with someone to listen and care for him or her is preventative medicine.

To decrease the risk of depression for people with macular degeneration; researchers offer a multi-disciplinary approach that bridges primary eye care, psychiatry, psychology, and rehabilitation. It takes a little thinking for people who try to understand possible antidotes for depression.

I'd like to take this opportunity to affirm that treatment of depression must address all aspect of a person's health, such as suggested above. New study shows that similar therapy can cut this risk in half. If recent numbers provided by NIH is close, that means saving about 5 million Americans from depression.

It usually takes big numbers like this motivate researchers and professional caregivers to roll up their sleeves to work harder. But if you are someone whose at risk of depression, the number can be as small as one, that is you. If you are conscious about your health, your goals and your future, preventative medicine will have some value for you.

What would you do to save yourself from depression?

Are You Happy?

Happiness is a need, whether you choose to feel happy or not. How are you going to meet that need?

Our thoughts have the power to multiply into energy. There must be the seedlings to all things. What are they? What kind of energy are your thoughts creating? Are they life giving or life taking? Do you know the difference?

Energy doesn't just depend on the magnitude of thoughts regardless what everybody think. Energy is the product of the kind of thoughts also.

How do you energize your mind and body? I can explain one remedy with a thousand words and countless phrases. But nothing beats personal guidance.

Unless I get to know who you are and how you carry on every day, I won't be able to help you.

Please come by and see me at the Broken Hearted Anonymous Community sometimes. Join in and we'll talk more.

Healing Starts Only if You so Desired

You may have been having a particularly tough life due to depression. But that doesn't automatically make you want to heal. Sometimes we see deep personal reasons to hold on to the pain we hate dearly. It's the bitter sweet fruit of our soul. Is this the situation you are in? Tell me.

I didn't think my condition could get worse, but it did. I won't budge until my mind was under the control of overwhelming emotions. My body quietly endured great pain.

No matter which way I looked at life, there was no color. My movements showed the great heaviness in me. I carried around the pain in this wholesomeness that make people hated me and called me lazy Susan.

The last drop of pain was on me when I had to come face to face with the people who I loved most and expected a lot from. It felt like the world was against me when they turned against me. They thought I was strong but they never knew that my heart was already broken into the little pieces.

I became a dependent and that did not feel okay with me. Even the therapist had fear in her eyes when she looked at me from across the room. If faith was not in me, there would be nowhere to turn.

I stayed home when staying home wouldn't help. I went to get help but could not find it. I got more confused because there was no such thing as a real plan. Everyone seemed to be too busy to look up from what they were doing. That was the beginning of my adventure into self help.

It was no longer a time in life whence I could just stand there, lift my shirt to wipe my nose and someone would run over to help. That won't happen. There was no use to make the situation seem like an emergency either. Psychiatric Emergency was still an unfounded profession.

It was an awful feeling when I couldn't count on any one. I decided to heal when I became tired of wearing a mask, like almost everyone else.

Being a psychiatric patient means you are your own counselor, nurse, cook, doctor and be your own priest too. Also be a monk. Meditate.

I found bravery within myself when I realized that being ill wasn't the time to feel self pity. Self pity put you in non-action mode. That would also put you at a dead-end. Act. Do something to save yourself.

A Common Mission

How do I know you, feel your pain and also readily cheer to your happiness?

Because we are ALL human, the pour souls God let off onto this land.

Together we survive through time and space.

For that reason we are less individuals than we are collective.

We will not judge one another harshly for things we don't understand.

We often love and care for one another even though we may not have met.

We go into prayers when someone else is hurt, even though we may not be conscious about it.

We will help anyone who wants to get better.

When God's language govern our words, fellowship is formed.

Accept the fact that we will face the same challenges in this life.

Thus if you need help, hang in there and don't give up.

If you would like to help, extend a hand.

You're welcome.

That you too can be heard as you share your problems, and

With me we will solve those problems together, because

You will not be shy to talk about problems that I too have experienced, and

Hope is made of things that really work, and that

What's created with blood, pain, and tears are to be shared, and

That's where a new ray of hope will be found.

Live happily..
You're blessed..

From me to you..

My Motivation

I am motivated in my work because I have met a lot of peers who are depressed and still struggle with suicidal thoughts. I reach out because I know that you still have a desire to live.

It's just that you are still half blind to the value our God has blessed you. The LORD did not anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to remind you of what's in you.

Mend your broken heart and reclaim liberty. Do not stay captives and be fooled that a prison is some kingdom.

Find the comfort and mourn no more. Liberate the spirit of heaviness and with God we will all be glorified in the same light.

If you will seek my help and join my community of peers, please use care in your interaction with other peers. People are Godly whoever they may be. Cruelty is the only thing that I will not allow.

I am passionate about helping others. It makes me feel good about life and existence in general. It helps fuel my determination to continue my work. I am actively seeking to connect with helpers and the people who need help. Come around to chat with me and do what you need to heal.

A Little Bit About Me

Hi,

Welcome to my coaching page.

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Susan. I am a blogger of www.susansummerbreakfree.com and the related blogs; and writer of "The 7 Secrets to Revive the Self."

I've started working on those blogs since 2009 and the book is the result of over a decade of research and composition. These are my thoughts, my passion and my tears.

I thought it is time I should put my knowledge to work for you and will begin to accept members who will trust me enough to let me help out.

Depression is a mystery only because there are too many one dimensional point of views being voiced out there. But it won't be a mystery for someone who has been through its torture and been on the brink of giving up; only to overcome all the negative forces and stand up. That's me.

Depression was and will never be a stranger to me. It was a decade long companion and sinker. But I did not sink. I sunk it and stood up like the Grand Canyon.

I'd like to help you stand up too. Be that healthy person you always envy. Go out to claim the success which you look from afar as others have them. Be the one who will take the center stage of all things.

Please contact me if you have any question about my coaching services and we'd go from there.

Thank you for your interest. I look forward to helping you move toward a new life, free of illness and suffering.

Sincerely,

Susan
